The FAA is implementing new Performance Based Navigation (PBN) flight routes and procedures for MSP. The new, concentrated flight routes may result in a significant increase in departure traffic for neighborhoods in the proposed flight paths. The public has not been provided an opportunity to sufficiently review these plans. They have also not been provided with any information to compare the current level of flight traffic with levels associated with the new plan. We are asking the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) at its Nov. 19th meeting to delay recommendation of support for the new FAA plans and to delay implementation until 2014 in order to adequately assess the impacts of the new plan.
